About the event

We cordially invite you to join us for a wonderful day visiting with fellow enthusiasts and spending time on our Centennial, 1100-acre farm. Plans throughout the day will include guided tours that will take you on your mini bikes through the cherry orchards, to an 1880s cabin in the woods, a hidden lake, along back roads that haven’t changed since the 1930s, the vineyard, and a reconstructed antique gas station. When you are not touring the farm, you can kick back and relax at our wine and cider house, Cellar 1914, which is here on site. Grab a bite to eat from a food truck and meet new friends with a common passion for mini bikes. You are also welcome to explore the many back roads surrounding the area. The full day’s itinerary will be posted as the event approaches.
All brands of vintage mini bikes, with their stock engine, small Z50s, CT70s, and similar brand bikes under 125cc (no dirt bikes, please) are welcome. We are looking to gather a group that enjoys the outdoors and respects the surroundings. If you’re looking for a place to do burnouts, spin donuts, have wheelie competitions, and race, this is not the event for you. Please understand that this is not a “free for all” where you can drive wherever you want on the premises. This is a working farm and all areas will be restricted when not being accompanied by a guide.
The local area also offers plenty of opportunities for you to get out and explore. Central Lake is a small town nestled between Traverse City and  Charlevoix/Petoskey, which are two booming tourist areas. Torch Lake, which was voted the third most beautiful lake in the world by National Geographic, is literally right down the road. The farm is less than 3 miles away from  Grand Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan. The area offers a wide selection of amenities such as hotels, restaurants, and campgrounds. We, Cellar  1914, and Shooks Farm are also Harvest Hosts (https://harvesthosts.com). You can stay on-site if you are a Harvest Host member. We also have a camping site through Tentrr and an AirB&B.
For more information, you can email the hosts, Daryl and Cheri Shooks, at shooksd@torchlake.com.
